The challenge

Northstar Distribution ran 24 warehouses across three regions on a patchwork of QuickBooks, Excel inventory sheets, and WhatsApp purchase orders. Every reconciliation took two days; stock variance was a running joke. Northstar needed one system to own the full FMCG flow — purchasing, multi-warehouse inventory, sales orders, customer credit, and finance — without a 9-month implementation freezing operations.

    Real-time stock across 24 sites with auto-transfer rules, reorder points, and batch/expiry tracking for FMCG SKUs.

  • Sales order pipeline

    From quote to invoice to delivery with credit-limit checks, partial fulfilment, and route-planning.

  • Supplier portal + auto-PO

    Suppliers see live demand forecasts; reorder points auto-generate POs that wait for one human approval.

  • Multi-currency accounting

    Books in TZS, KES, and USD with daily FX revaluation and consolidated group reporting.

  • Field-rep mobile app

    iOS/Android app for sales reps — order entry, stock check, customer ledger, and route GPS tracking.

  • Executive dashboards

    Real-time revenue, gross margin, top SKUs, and DSO with drill-down to invoice level.
